Oh oh, this looks so very realistic! Great work, how small are these lemons?

They are about 10mm from end to end. Thanks for your comment. Coming from you it is indeed a fine comment.

These are highly impressive! I like how you created a variety of miniatures to represent the lemon. Perhaps add some glaze to create the juicy effect? :)

Amazing cane work! It looks so real, I'd love to have that tiny slice of lemon in a hot cup of tea, right now. :D Did you cut the lemons before or after you baked them? And about how big are they? :aww:

And congratulations on your 100th deviation! :rose:

The lemons were cut prior to baking. As the clay is so soft at that stage I chilled it first. At their longest point the lemons are about 11mm long. Thank you for your words. I thought you had gone missing.

Chilling them first is a really good idea. I can't wait to try all this :aww: 11mm? They are so tiny! :giggle:

My pleasure, as always, Mel ^^ I am here, just still trying to get over that cold.

Do it sunshine!! It is so easy you will wonder why you didn't try it before. If you look at everything of mine from cabbages through apples and lemons, they are all made using canes. Have a look at some tuts on youtube if you are nervous.

Very nervous. I tried one cane with no previous experience or tute to go with it, to make butterfly wings. In for a penny, in for a pound? Sure was! I didn't do a good job, and no wonder  I need to write 100 lines 'I will not try the hardest things for my first attempts' :iconshakestickplz:

I can't really say anything without being seriously rude but let me continue by saying that my cabbage leaves were the second cane I had ever tried. I'm rather proud of them. I guess it is also a matter of being able to visualise the end result of what you are putting together in the first place. Do a simple orange or lemon to start with then move on from there. It doesn't need to be a big one. I am so tight with money that I hate using lots of clay.

Oh thank you, thank you! I'm scared to do them because I hate waste - of the clay, the money and the time. I promise I will give it a shot with lemons or oranges at my next opportunity and let you know. and I'll view a tute or 3 first :iconteheplz:

Indeed you should be proud of your cabbage leaves, they're amazing!
